rock saw?

knap_123:
who has  good, cheap, used saws for cutting flint?

mullet:
You are better off buying a motor and blade and making one. Saws that will cut the hard material, like Flint, coral etc, are not cheap. The oil bath saw's are what you want if you buy one.

knap_123:
ok, what kind of motor?   and any other info you can through my way.  have you made  one of these saws and adout whats the cost?

mullet:
What I use is a big 10" brick saw. I buy blades from HomeDepot for $70. I can blaze through Obsidean and softer rock. Heat treated coral cuts real good. But if you want to cut raw coral, chert, and flint I would recomend an oil bath. Maybe Brian Melton will chime in, he has several saws.

were did you get your brick saw?
