I have always shot instinct whether with a compound or now with my recurve.I ALWAYS shoot better when I don,t try to hold and aim.Like you said it seems better in 1 fluid motion.go with what feels natural.Good luck-Lloyd

 ;D I'm sure "Our Father in Heaven" loves us all equally...it was just Pappy's turn, so "Our Father" used me as his instrument to redirect that bucks path right to Pappy! He knew what a special gift it would be to Pappy with the equipment he was using, to SawFiler because he had made that arrow and point, and finally to me as well for just being a part of it and getting to enjoy the whole experience with Pappy that morning...and I really did enjoy that morning's hunt more then any other during 2008! ;)

  JBL, i don't even hit the corner of my mouth, all the time. Mine is more or less a floating anchor. I do like you do. I concentrate on a spot, pull real slow back to what feels right for that shot, and release with one fluid motion. Glad to here you are back on track.

Thanks Bentstick this forum and thread have helped me.  Like most here this is a fun addiction so the issues I had where a good excuse to shoot more!!

Just wanted to add a funny story.  The other day I went back to the range and my "coach" came in while I was shooting I was shooting "my" way but he says to me "Boy you really have improved; I am happy those tips worked for you".  I just let it pass.
