Jesse, part of the thing I was talking about is to set the tip up on a bevel toward the side you're fluting. Then when you put the tip on a block of antler or hardwood and smack the nipple, it's almost like bipolar flaking. Most original Folsoms are a lot smaller than Clovis points-like 2-3" long.

 Some came from Glass Buttes, compliments of Brian Melton. The other came from Justin, Utah. They are both good. I found the purple streaks in the stuff from Justin.

has anyone made a primitive saw to split antler? any other primitive ways to split antler appreciated as well.
