Jesse, I'll try-I sure haven't mastered fluting folsoms yet, either. I can get a decent Clovis now and then, but I'm sure no expert on fluting. I'm positive I  can show you how to roll-fracture one into two pieces on the second flute. ;D I'm like you, jig fluting just don't do it for me-I like to try to figure out how to do it like they did it. EOTWS, the usual primitive method of splitting antler is to soak it until it gets soft, then score it with a burin flake and split it.
