I used a 66" bow as a guide for that quiver....and the end stuck out about 6", I think.  I didn't measure the leather, I just used as much of the hide as I could by cutting diagonally across the hide.

The important thing is to make sure the quiver balances on the two tie-in points and that the bow does not tip to one side when you put the quiver on.
Any critter tastes good with enough butter on it.
