bow wood ?

i was wondering what every ones take is on Slippery Elm  ( Ulmus rubra ) as a bow wood

  all opinion greatly appreciated

Yes, Slippery Elm....also called Red Elm is definitely a bow wood. Have fun splitting it  ;D

Slippery elm makes a good bow. It is a bit harder to split than some woods, but not as bad as a lot of the other elms.

Really like it. Elms are a little more stubborn to split, but worth it.

Go for it ! Red Elm is good in my book, i found it easier to slipt than American Elm !

good deal I'm going to try 1 i have a lot of them around here unlike Osage it is hard to come by they r scared far and few betwen
    thank u all for the input on the elm think i will go cut 1 today after it cools down a lit its 90 crazy weather for April here
