thanks guys.paul, hit it till it breaks or the bruising on my leg cant take it anymore.  ;D pretty much the same thing with pressure flaking too .

thanks again. this stuff was pretty good to work with. ruined an antler tine but better than some of the other stuff ive tried. im gonna go out tomorrow and see if i can dig up some more. gotta hit the beach soon cause its loaded with cobbles like this.

great point jamie.i had some quarts from here in central oregon...i popped it open and it looked kind of grainy.so i junked it..now after seening your point i might have to give it a try....i do have a question.the more grainy the rock is does it make it harder...i thought it was pritty tuff stuff...john

grainy definetly doesnt help . but i watched hillbilly bust into some nasty stuff and then get fired up over a piece of ct quartz. so i had to get into the local stuff.
