Lets see some different handles

Lets see some different handles on your knives. I have been making replica antlers to make knife handles out of. Looking for differnt Ideas of all sorts. So lets see them!

A friend sent me a fallow deer shed and wanted a knife made around it. I used the bottom part of the horn for the handle and the rest of it for the stand. The blade is raw Texas material.

Here is some of mine,everything from deer leg bone to deer and elk antler. I love leg bones. :)

Since the cholla (at least the stuff I have) is hollow,how do you haft to it and also keep the end caps on?  I was thinking of packing it with epoxy putty by ramming balls if it down the end to make it solid.

If I told You....I would have to Kill You....... :P..........actually...all you do is sand the end flat ...and the Wall thickness is enough to glue a Cap on the End....and as for the Center being Hollow...this only helps in the Hafting process....just cut you a slot in the Cholla between the Lattice Fibers....and haft it with Pine Pitch or Epoxy ...and then wrap it with Sinew or Gut....just that simple....and Cholla is as hard as Hickory...so it makes a great Knife Handle

After Greg finished cutting up some Osage at Twin Oaks yesterday I grabbed some scraps and made this handle this afternoon.

(Hey VB show off that new knife handle you showed me a picture of ole buddy, it was a beaut!)
