full length commercial feathers

sonny:
Anyone know how many 4.5" flu-flu feathers can be cut from full length feathers such as those available from 3 Rivers ??
I plan on making some quick and easy small game arrows using poplar dowels, flu-flu feathers and ......haven't decided on what heads to use. might just make
some nutters.

Ian Johnson:
I can get two from one full length feather

ZanderPommo:
same

Pat B:
Use a single full length feather to make a spiraled flu flu. It is simple. Attach one end to the shaft and spiral wrap the feather around the shaft and attach the other end. If you use fletch tape it sticks immediately. With glue you will have to wait a bit for it to dry but both work fine...or just use a forward and rear wrap. Just be sure you spiral the feather in a natural spiral direction. It will work both ways but looks better is done correctly.

Hillbilly:
I do 'em like Pat-I like the spiral fluflus better than the normal-fletched ones, plus they are quicker and easier to make and us a lot less feathers.
