2 fletch ?

what length do you ude for 2 fletch and why?  i want to get as short as possible  but does length make a difference?

Pat B:
Ideally you want as little feather surface as possible and still get good steerage for your arrows. This is for any fletching.     I use 5" to 6" of feather for each side of a 2 fletch. I also cut the feather width down so I have a smaller profile. You will have to do a little experimenting to see what works best for your style of shooting.

Hillbilly:
I make mine about the same size as Pat said-usually about 5 1/2" long and trimmed down fairly low.
