64" 42# 28"

2" at the fades slowly taper in with to about mid, then steeper. 1/3" tips.

16,5 ounce. About 1,5 ounce under Mass principle if I calculated right, but I got no wrapping on the handle so.

Roughed it out green to near dimensions, then a week inside and one day in my drier. No checking or problems from drying.

Since reading TBB4 and Radius Holmegaard tribute I'm really in to the design.

There's some sort of character spot in one limb which had a 2" deflex from start. I tempered and put in 0,5" of total reflex. Didn't take out all the deflex in the character spot. I marked it in the pics.

The bow has 1" stringfollow just unbraced, most of it from the character spot.

Any comments or whatever extremely welcome. Thanks!

Rowan's also named mountain ash, but it is not a relative of ash!

TBod: what is you feeling about Rowan as a bow wood?? It grows all over the place and a really straight stave would be as easy to find as ash. I'm sure it take tension very well, but how about compression??
Nice bow, upper limb looks wild!

for holmies, if you keep the handle quite small you get more inner bending limb.  On my oak holmegaards, the actual palm-area of the handle is only 2.5 " long.

Thats my first bow on Rowan. I love it! It grows everywhere around where I live. Got tons of it in my backyard. If  I look at the fades I See 11 growth rings, thats on about 3/5" of depth really tight rings. Takes heating really well like Hazel.

The design is inspired from TBB4, it's all about the Andaman Holmegaard.

The other part of that log has a lower crown so I'm gonna make another but 2,5" at the fade.

The handle is 6". I like long handle and short inner limbs makes it more difficult to tiller. Love the challenge Cheesy

Does your string line up with handle and both tips?

Thanks Guys!

The string goes closer to one side of the handle. Which means it's almost centershoot I think. Thats why I flip the bow when I switch bowhands. I've taken on the habit of shooting with both hands.

Is that what your asking about adb?

The bow is kind of snappy a hard not smooth draw and really snaps back fast upon release. Haven't tried it much yet though.
