It’s hard to get a good description of a Snow Snake because few people have seen this endangered creature..... Snow Snake sightings are about as common as Bigfoot sightings or Loch Ness Monster sightings.
Snow Snakes are the nemisis of skiers and snow boarders all over Da UP..... Snowsnakes tend to like to warm themselves on steep snow-covered slopes..... Their white color makes them impossible to see while skiing or boarding..... Often the cause for unxplained wipe outs!
They also say....don't go to the bathroom outdoors in da winter.... or a snow snake could crawl up your butt !! Da Snow Snake travels under deep snow commonly in the area of Upper Michigan... Da only way to catch one is to go to the deep snow in the middle of a field with a fishing net and six- pack of beer....da Beer is a must!!
A few Yoopers have reported seeing the elusive Snow Snake..... Details are sketchy..... but the Snake seems to be nocturnal.... It’s more active on the nights of the weekend, and it’s more easily viewed after drinking a few hot toddies.
Most people claim that the Snow Snake is pure white with eyes as transparent as shards of ice.... Snow snakes vary in size from the tiny foot-long ones that reportedly bite into and latch onto cross-country skis, causing skiers to lose control.
A six-foot long snow snake allegedly toppled over an Ice Fishing Shanty on Teal Lake in Negaunee once....about making Da Fishermen inside dump der Beers!
