Well, what about some details?  Like arrow material, penetration depth, how far he ran, good blood trail..etc!

Thanks!

Sorry, didnt think of that.  The arrows are pretty simple.  I get into making bows and quivers, but tend to fudge on arrows.  The arrows are Easton Alluminums with magnus two blade heads.  (I think Im going to start trying my hand an napping pretty soon).   The deer came in at about 12 or so yards.  Perfect broadside shot.  I shot him with my ipe trilam that is 62 lbs @ 28".  I draw 30" so it stacks to about 65 or so lbs at my draw length.  The arrow went in up to the fletching.  He keep the arrow as he ran.  He ran about 75 yards into an open field.  He left a great blood trail, which I didnt need because he ran out into and open field and I watched him the whole way.  But the blood trail would have been a good one to follow.

You're living my dream!  Not that I haven't tried with my own wood bow but I keep shooting over or under in the heat of the moment.
Great shot and thanks for keeping the fire buring in my heart.  One day, one day.....

I can understand.  I did the same thing when i started bow hunting.  I started in the early 80s with a Herters Recurve.  I got it all down well before I started making bows.  So using my own bows have not been a problem.  I have been shooting traditional bows since 1978.  Just keep at it and it will all come together.  Good luck with the rest of the season.
