for pappy: here is another picture of a tip plumwood and buffalohorn that i put on an osagebow that my friend katja made. these tips are VERY narrow (it's a 40some# bow)

finally: if anyone ever uses WENGE as wood on tips as i did, make sure to use the grain VERTICAL (different from how i did it here) this here is a light bow, so that doesn't matter too much i guess. but vertical sure is safer!!!

I have a big question! How do you keep from cutting into the back layer of your bow when shaping the knocks and violating a growth ring?
