Frank, just scrolled through your build-along again...very nice! I really enjoy the tip making process, and have been getting plenty of practice here lately with most everyone that comes and makes a bow with us wanting me to put on a set of overlays.

I just finished a set for the Memorial bow...they didn't turn out as I'd like, the bow was already tillered and the grooves had been cut a little far into the back then they should if planning to put overlays on. I thought they would come out when I narrowed the tips but I misjudged it. I should have angle tapered the bows back more at the tips to get rid of them, but was afraid to shorten the original bow wood beyond the side grooves to much and potentially weaken the tips. It isn't to obvious, but it isn't the fine uninterrupted glue lines that I had hoped for. :'(

Yes, that's always a problem, when the nock is cut in too deeply already; had the exact same problem when I put on overlays to a friends bow the other day!
