Thanks for the Pictures.  Really miss the farm!  Was surprised to see you actually using that old quiver.  I like the picture of your son and his wife.  I am working on a pink quiver for the raffle and have to admit it is kicking my rear.  Am soaking a bison skull that John has agreed to bring and decorate for the spirit station.  My Yukon trip may be falling apart so if I show up at the classic I hope you let me in.  Joe

I had honor and the pleasure to shoot with Gil and Sherry at  an event in Indiana a few years ago.  There was a book written about Gil and his unit called , "The Only Thing Worth dying For".  Gil is a true American hero.  Nice to see him over your way Pappy

Yes he only lives 7 or 8 miles from me. Great guy and his shooting is really coming a long. He came in 2nd in Long bow and we had some pretty good shooters there. :) I have known him for many years, way before him getting blown up right after 9/11. :) Eric built him a Boo backed bow also a few years ago that he shoots very good, he said he was saving that one for the Classic. :)

The bow I made Gil is all osage, no bamboo. I asked for a little divine guidance when I made it because the bow was for a special guy, the bow almost made itself, no tillering or alignment problems at all.

The first time I shot with Gil, Sherry, his son and sister was at the Farmland shoot in Indiana.  I was down there putting a fundraiser on so we could send archery equipment to army bases in Afganistan.  Gil and family came up to our booth and after a visit we shut it down so we could shoot with them.

Well we didn't realize that they were keeping score so after the first target I said I will get the arrows and I ran down and pulled the arrows and handed them out.  They wanted to know what the scores were and of course, I didn't have a clue as we were just shooting and did not realize it was a competition.  They got the biggest kick out of that.

Eric, that was an OUTSTANDING thing you did for Gil.
