Miss Joanie's uncle gave me a cross bow he brought back from Nam is 67, it needed some work so I have been trying to get it and it quiver and arrows back in shape. No plans on shooting it but thought it would be cool to put up and look at. The bow wood I am not sure of but the arrows are Boo slivers and fletching are boo leaves.

The quiver is a boo stalk.

More of the cross bow set up, looks and fills like it would be pretty stout. He said they didn't shoot them very good but would dip the arrow in crap and all they wanted to do was hit you with it, then it would take more men to take you off the battle field.

Mounted trade points on 6 of the new arrows, 200 grains and fly like darts.

Still got a few arrows to get ready for my Yew bow but in pretty good shape for the opening weekend.

Miss Joanie said he had a good teacher.

I plan on some bush hogging this week and weekend and then start putting up stands according to how the mass crops are doing, seems we are going to have some pretty good acorns and persimmon's if the storms that keep coming through don't blow them all off. $:-\$

Yep she is growing up Bob, sweet as she can be and worries Sally to death. Our season opens on the 4th Saturday in Sept. and runs 3 months except for 2 days of the youth hunt:)

Friday and a long weekend to boot, got lots of stuff to do around the farm, hunting season is right around the corner and I need to finish some bush hogging of trails and field edges and also plan on putting up some stands. TwinOaks also has a working and meeting at 8am Saturday morning and plan on getting everything around the club ready for winter. I think Little John is coming down this evening so I am sure we will have some stuff going on in the shop. Hope yall have a good one. See ya Tuesday.

Had a great weekend, lots of stuff done and lots of friends to hang out with. I got all my bushhogging done/arrows built and 5 stands put up along with some scouting. Here are a few pictures of the fun.
Stands just waiting to be put up and last 2 powder horns finished. Probably the last for a while.

Sally and Sister doing what the do most. Jimmy Blackmon showed up for a visit, great seeing him, you can tell by his looks he is out of the Army.

Also Little John showed up wit another project, cool pistol kit.

First shot, we all took turns, shot very good at close range and didn't blow up in our hand at least. Of course Woody had to do one of his impressions " Sir you are a scoundrel " as he took aim.
