Bet you made a great Santa BJ. :) Christmas morning finely arrived here in Tennessee, Beau/Christina and Margaret Ann are on their way over. Really Looking forward to Margaret Ann's first Christmas. ;) :) Going to give her the bow I made for her when she was born and Beau's first quiver, don't think she can shoot it yet  :-\ but she has a pretty good grip so at least she can hold it. ;) :) :) Merry Christmas all. Very Nice.

Snow on Christmas Eve was very cool. Sunrise this morning was very pretty coming up over the ridge early. Days are getting longer once again. Almost time for Hog Hunting!  (-_) (-_)

Yep the light snow was cool, felt like Christmas for a change this year. :) I had a good one with family and friends. Had Beau and Christina over with Margaret Ann's first Christmas and really enjoyed it. I gave her a life time hunting License  and the bow I made for her. She seems to like the skins, probably get over that when she gets old enough to know it's a snake. Headed to the cabin in a few minutes to get things ready for my Yankee buddies, they should be on the road now and break through our picket lines around around 1 or 2 pm. ;) :) :) :) Look forward to seeing them and all the fellowship this coming week.  ;) :)Hope yall have a good on also.  Life is Good. :)

That's awesome Pap. She got her bow! Great looking family there.

Here's that Ulmus with some color on it.

Thats a beautiful looking little lady there Pappy!  She will grow into that bow before you know it! A life time hunting license, now thats a great gift.

Thanks guys, back home, got all my Yankees buddies headed North, got a message that they were home late last night. We had a great time. They all seen lots of deer and had some close encounters but no shots taken. Glenn did kill 4 squirrels, 3 gray's and 1 big fox so at least that took some meat home. ;) I have a bunch of pictures of the fun and will post some as soon and I catch up here at home. Hope yall all had a great Christmas and a wonderful New year to come. Hard to believe it will be 2018. ??? :o ;)

A few pictures of the week, I didn't hunt a lick, I just stayed at the cabin and worked in the shop, waiting on them to kill something so I could help find and retrieve it, and of course keep the fire going. :) Another ax in the works. Not sure on what kind this is but I bet Clint will know. ;) :)

Handle all worked down. Eddie's Walnut and Poplar split and marked for him when he comes back again. Gary was the first Yank to show up, of course now he is an official snow bird. ;) :) :)

Then Chuck/Davy and Glen. Doing some checking of equipment and a little shooting.  ;) Davy was checking the weight of his Sinew backed Osage, it seemed to have picked up some weight in the cold /dry Tennessee weather. ;) :)

Same kind of marking on the hand ax.  :-\ It was really cold for TN. so I kept them a good fire going to warm by when they got in from hunting.  Glen is a wizz in the kitchen and kept us well feed.We all pitched in but Glen was the main cook. ;)
