Life is good
Pappy:
Had a great weekend, very wet but a great time all the same. Dave and his grandson Conner came in for the Turkey youth hunt and had a great hunt and good time hanging out. I spent a lot of time in the shop and got some stuff done while they were out hunting. Decided to work on a couple of bows I started a few months back, 1 was Hawthorn Cody gifted me a few years ago and the other for one of my grand kids out of a small piece of good clean Osage.I had them both to brace when I put them away. :)

The Hawthorn had a lot of character and a few knots I need to deal with, they came out nice and clean. Just used a little punch to pop them right out. :)

The Hawthorn was coming in a little on the light side so decided to heat treat and flip the tips then finish tillering. The Osage I have 12@15 and looking pretty good, going to let Margaret Ann give it a try to see if she can handle it, I seem to always get their bow a little heavy so want this one to be where she can handle it good.Annie still coming up with bones and skulls, Back strap for us for supper. :)

BigA showed up with a knife I had helped him with, and a sheath made from cow rawhide, turned out really nice, he also gifted me with a big blade from some really good German steel, I will see what I can do with that. :)

I decide while my Hawthorn was re-hydrating I would add some tip overlays, the wood is pretty soft and was afraid the knock area would split. Deer antler done the trick. :) and added a small shelf out of thick leather. :)
