Ya the weather has finely got better, highs in the 60s lows in the 40s all this week.I had that snake in the freezer for about a month ago.The county road crew saves them for me.You can't
hunt them anytime in Tn.I love having the kids down and it kind of supprizes the deer because that is the only time I let anyone use a gun or compound for that matter. The food plots are really kicking right now ,not much else for them to eat because of the late freeze in the spring and the supper dry,hot summer. :)I plan to get back after them this week,it is my favorite time of the year just before the rut kicks in,after the rut comes in the bucks can be anywhere. :)

Yep....a few hours on stand watching deer, roughing out a piece of hickory, and watching a little "Quigley" while we ate brats, taters, and fried chicken. Now that is living! I wish I could've stayed the whole weekend...

At least I got that piece of hickory floor-tillered. I am gonna put some heat to it tonight and get the twist out.

Okay, I admit it...my mother used to wake my brothers and I up to go to school in the morning by telling us that the "hot biscuits are ready!". :) The only time I get that kind of good country cooking anymore is usually down at Pappy's. ;)

The 12th?    :(  Today's only the 5th.  Quick, somebody post some pic's of food and bows.  Surely someone from Pappy's club can take up the slack until he gets back.  It's Monday, someone throw me a bone please.  :'(

All kidding aside, have a great time Pappy.

So far, I haven't found any Osage or knappable rock over here.  Embrace the suck

Well I am back for a week and then I am off again.Had a great week off,had some friends down from Ohio and Indiana.I took a doe first day of the hunt and cook and catered to them the rest of the week.Worked on my Osage bow and got it braced, got the little Hickory finished, finely and put tip overlays on an Osage and Ironwood for the boys.Steve got his Hickory floor tillered and I heat treated it and put in a little backset.Greg got an Ironwood started so we had a good week. They missed 6 shots durning the week but had a good time,no deer for them but they all had
the chance. We had soap,Chile Wild Turkey and deer steak every night. So we ate good.Only
rained 1 night so I had to do the Turkey in the skillet,it turned out OK.here are some pictures.
Here are some of the supplies for the week.
