2 bamboo arrows for your time..
« on: February 09, 2010, 02:21:23 pm »
i want to trade two of my bamboo arrows for your time.  these are simply made and i can proved a picture of the pointy end when i get home.  they are all 29 inches long.  they are all stiff side towards the bow, or should be( kids can be distracting some times!! lol)  they are  not spined as i havent built a spine tester, and they are unweighed as i havent gotten my scale yet.  anyways, i wanna trade 2 arrows for torture testing to see what other people think about them.  i have at least 26, willing to let go of 20.  all i ask is help with actual shipping, then you keep the arrows.  first one ill pay shipping to find out what it will be to ship them, hopefully not too much.  if anyone is interested let me know.  i really would like someones opinion.

if this is against the rules im sorry, and i didnt know which forum to put it in.  i just would like some feed back, and to "give away" some of these arrows that ive made.  i dont want to keep making them incorrectly if im doing something wrong.

if I was you I would just keep them and shoot them.  If they work good for you then  they ought to be good enough, right?  Dont think you should just give your arrows away. JMO.

You really need to find out the spine. If you sent them out and the spine wasn't what the person needs, they would shoot bad even if they are good arrows.

Sharing is not a problem at all, you just need to share something they can use.  It works better for both parties if they can shoot them.  ;)

Somebody else was looking for spine tester plans recently, and a third person put up this link to a buildalong:

aero if you need help with building one easy send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll shoot you some pics. after you look them over if you still have questions I'll be happy to answer them, but they're self explanatory.

or just put two nails on a wall 26'' apart, buy an assortment of known spine shafts, hang a weight on the middle of the shaft and draw lines on the wall where they stop bending. you'll be very very surprised with the accuracy, trust me

the dial spine tester works but is much more difficult to build than the pointer type.  if you're going to make all your arrows to the same spine, then i would just use the two nail spine tester.
