I was just re-reading this thread and remembered something from about 22 years ago in Vermont. I'm not sure how the seasons run now, but back then, the rifle season for bear started in September, ending in December, and completely overlapping the archery-only season for deer in October. Two of my buddies were bowhunting, one in a treestand, and the other stalking. The stalker came across a bear hunter aiming his rifle at the guy in the tree. When he asked him what he thought he was doing, the rifle hunter answered "Do you see that bear?"
Be careful out there, cause you never know who might be out there with you. Maybe Dick Cheney's hunting your area.
