No jasper down here. I'm in the hills and   :( I'm over my head in Coffee. I live in Florida, always have a tan. ;)

Grunt:
In April 1967 they took our M-14's and gave us M-16"s. We got some of the first ones without later improvements. Charlie Co got caught in an ambush and their new M-16's started to jam. The only thing that worked that night was machine guns, grenade launchers, pistols, hand grenades and bayonets. We, Alpha Co, had to fix our bayonets and fight into the ambush to save Charlie Co. The North Vietnamese were executing wounded Marines whose rifles jammed when we engaged. If we hadn't gone in Charlie would have been totally wiped out. I sure wish I could share your enthusiasm about the little black rifles.

sailordad:
Grunt i have heard that about the first combat issued rifles

nice thing is these are nothing like that, these rifles are incredible
DPMS knows how to make these things.
they have so many variants of it.the one i want is chambered for .308,has a bull barrel that has been cryogenicaly treated
a flat tope reciever, aluminum for grip.and much much more
