Neolithic quiver buildalong (oetzi-style)
« on: February 24, 2010, 06:00:29 AM »
I want to show you a lot of pics and only a few words..... my english isn't as good as I want!

For the quiver I used a fur of chamois (like the origin Oetzi-quiver) and a sapling of hazelnut for the stiffener. I hope the pics will describe the process of building the quiver.

Great work! You dont need many words at all, the pictures alone do it.

One question, it looked like you wrapped your sapling with sinew. I may just be going blind though, but if so, how come?

Cool build along, Andrew. Thanks for posting it. Otzi's quiver was quite sophisticated for being so simple.

Great build along, Andi!
You'd recommend a summer coat chamois you'd say??

Thanks for your compliments :)

@Dane

I wrapped the sapling with hempfibers and glue, cause the sapling gets cracks lengthwise when I try to make it straight with heat. For decoration I burned the place between the wrappings with a lighter ::)

@Medicinewheel

yeah, a summer coat hasn't so much long hair and so thick undercoat. The quiver will be easier to work.....
