sassafrass shoots

Has anybody ever tried sassafrass shoots I noticed how staight the small ones are when I was in the woods  the other day  ???

I haven't yet but I do have some second year shoots growing on along my fence and I am planning on it. If you do it let me know how they turn out.

I've tried sassafras for arrows.Choose shoots of large diameter so you can reach the desired spine.They also don't like staying straight >:(. I was'nt too thrilled with this wood,and hav'ent built anymore arrows with it since.JMHO ;) God Bless

    Sassafrass is really light and warps baddly in bow2 staves.I've never try arrows from it for this reason.

 I've never tried shoots, but I'm getting a gift, of some Brazilian Spring Water with Sassafrass, on Monday. ;D
