VB, almost all the Coral Newnans, Hillsborough, and Marion points are like that. All very thin and most of the real good ones were heat treated. Some of the thinnest points you will find in Florida.

And that Pin-Head point, no guess's? The right buyer, my estimate is 5 grand or higher.

Imagine the native that knapped those points, they must have run around the village showing them off impressing everyone.
VB

Yeah, and then he'd try REAL hard not to lose them, which makes ya wonder what disaster befell the poor guy.  Did he die for some reason on or near the spot the points were found?

Zen, the ones you find that are broken are usually just missing the base. That time period saw some exceptional blades made down here.

Eddie is right , we have some exceptional archiac period points. We have some real fine quarry sites throughout the state, that helps alot. What I love about the digging and finding of artifacts is when you find a piece that does tell somewhat of a story, look at the coral hillsborough on the bottom pics. I love finding a point with impact fractures like this. These are some of my finds and most came from here in Hillsborough county
