Ahh, ramps, sweet nectar of the gods. I can't believe that there are poor folks out there who have never had ramps. They're a wild plant (Allium tricoccum) that grows in the higher elevations of the mountains here and through much of the northern US. Think green onions on steroids. A good mess of ramps or three in the spring is an absolute neccesity. They even have a big ramp festival in a town near here every May. Some people say they smell bad, but those are uneducated people who just don't know any better. ;D
