Thats quite an interesting thread...sometimes it works and sometimes it dont!...SO why do u like BL?  My favorite wood is tiger /Curly maple and Birdseye maple but probably not a good choice for a bow!  I once got to saw a giant piece of Mahogony it was quartered and was still almost 8' thick but that was some real nice wood too!

how can I NOT love it. It works so well, its so dense it sounds like glass if you tap on it. You can do rediculous bows with it. its a challenge to make a straight clean function bow from it cause its usually twisted, the smell is awesome. It doesnt rot, so you can just leave it outside until you're ready to make it into a bow blah blah blah a million and one reasons!!

Locust is good wood. It was generally the first choice of most Southeastern tribes for bow wood in areas where osage didn't grow.

I love it  too!  I try  to  get  as  much done as  possible when  green,  cause  it gets  tough to  work  dry!!  I  have  a  bunch  of  it  JEFF W

And I just tossed 20 Staves...because they sat out all Winter...and I was worried about mold or fungus getting them.... :-[
