Thanks, Gentlemen for your pics an ideas! I have a creek running thru my property, but will not use rocks from there! The field in fron t of the house is full of rocks, and we have a Few Piles, built up obver the years!
I'm going to weld a swinging style grate up, just woindering if any have done some masonry work with the field stone? Firepit/ outdoor fireplace?
Mike, your brother has a neat, Native set-up! Wish I had something like that as a Kid! :)

Bullitt, you *should* be fine with any stone you use, as long as you put the fire brick between the stone and the fire.
