colejack3:
Hey everyone bamboo is all over the place here and I was wondering what diameter I should get? It is definitley bamboo not rivercane. MAybe 3/8 down to 5/16? Im shooting about a 40 pound bow Thanks

stringstretcher:
I would start by cutting them no bigger than 3/8 on the large end.  That will give you plenty of room to work the arrow down to your spine.  Never tried plane bamboo, so let us know how it works

Hillbilly:
Bout 3/8 or a fuzz smaller on the big end should work. they'll shrink a little in diameter as they dry.

colejack3:
K what should I look for on the skinny end? Thanks guys!

Pat B:
Cut them long and wrap into a bundle and let them dry. Once dried you can choose the best sections of each shaft to use for your arrows. Generally 5/16" is good for the small end.
