Osage Selfbow by Tenbrook

Wanted to show some pictures of an Osage Selfbow I just finished up.  It is 65.5" NTN and pulls 50# @ 28".  Came from a stave cut back in January 2008.  Has Phenolic tips to make it FF compatible and holds about 1" of set after shooting.  Tillered the bow for hunting and heavy arrows.

Nice even tiller, clean simple lines, I like it.
Good shot of the back muscles working...(I'm sure mine must've looked like that a long time ago :'( ;) )

Nice looking bow with a good tiller and not much set,good work, What do mean though  FF compatible? It does seem a shame to put phenolic tips on a wood bow though, buffalo horn looks the same but better-just my opinion, but cool bow anyway

Good looking bow, on mine I want to stay primitive looking with I just use osage for the overlays

Nice clean classic design.
Antler makes a good tough overlay as well.......I've heard it called natures micarta.

Thanks for all the replies.  This is the first time I have used phenolic on a primitive bow.  Had some sitting around and figured why not?  ;)

Dragonman FF = Fast flight.  Fast flight strings are very low stretch compared to B50.  Because of this they are less forgiving but higher performance.  If you do not use phenolic tips with a FF string the string will eventually eat its way through the wood nocks and ruin the bow.  At least that is what I have been told.  I wanted this to be a hunting bow for pigs and figured I could use the extra speed/power a FF string gives.

Also please give me feedback on the tiller, good or bad.......

Tiller looks pretty good to me. Shoot it a few thousand times and see what happens ;) ;D

Actually it was kind twisted with a nasty dogleg.  I heated it up on the caul and straighten it out pretty good!  ;)
