Primitive Bow-fishing Reel?

tie a pole to your belt, have the line go over your head.  then when you hit, you can reel it in like normal.. lol

i saw that wooden reel about two or three years ago and STILL havnt found someone to turn me one.  >:(

I used to go primitive bow fishing when i lived in KS. We would shoot carp and gar in 3-4ft of water in a river and run /swim them down and grab the arrows to retrieve them.
 Lots of fun.

Ironhead:
Here's a couple that I've turned.  They're both out of a hackberry that my parents had cut down.









I just lace them on with leather boot laces.
