My 72" War Bow

(1/10) > >>

Pat B:
Well, here she is. 72" long from nock to nock, 95#@30". I used 2 coats of Formby's tung oil finish and 3 coats of Tru-Oil for the finish. The horn nocks are cow horn from Justin and I added silk wrap set in super glue to ease the transition from limb to horn nock and to protect the soft yew from the string.  Here are a few pics....

...and my version of FULL DRAW! ;D   I'll get a better full draw pic when I present it back to the guy that gave me the stave. I inscribed..."For James Parker, Thanks for the Experience"   Pat

Really nicely done, Pat.  Good for hunting geese from your picture. We'll look at it again for May Self Bow of the Month.

DanaM:
How many vertabrae popped during that draw ;)
Very nicely done warbow someone is gonna be pleased and proud of that baby.

Pat B:
Thanks guys.
Don, let me get a real full draw pic this weekend. I'll post pics Sunday night.
This was a fun(intimidating :o) project. I could never afford such a beautiful yew stave so when James insisted I take it as part of a trade, I knew I was going to build a war bow and give it back to him. I think he will be surprised. ;D    Pat
