Spiro welk shell art
swamp monkey:
The mound building culture at Spiro Oklahoma left behind some wonderful art. One of those works of art was a buffalo fish riddled with arrows. I am using this drawing as inspiration for crafting some mound building arrows. In the mean time I made this whelk shell art replica.
Charcoal followed by ink. The Spiro may have grooved their design first then inked it. I cannot say, I have not seen a museum specimen of this type of work up close.
