Conjecture:  They may be hanging tight to the cliff faces to take advantage of thermal lift, improving their glide characteristics.

Observation:  I work with birds of prey and envy what they can do, and I bet these guys are acting on those same feelings.

Fact:  This is less like a bird than a 'flying' squirrel that really just has a controlled glide.  You are what you eat and squirrels eat NUTS!

way cool if he was all black and had a cape id be batman lol i wonder if they incorporate how kites fly into there suits then they could gain some lift and could maybe hover abit

I went skydiving for the first time last Sept.  It was freakin awesome!  It was also my first time ever flying in a plane.  So now I can brag that I have flown in a plane but never landed in one...:)
