I have used obsidian for cutting and scraping cordage. But I always figured it was to brittle for chopping. With all the obsidian we have around here, I have never seen a NA point made from it.  All kinds of other rock, but no obsidian.  ??? Justin

                        Saw an obsidian knife years ago in a colorado museum near Steamboat Springs that was said to be Yampah ( hope I got the spelling correct)and was said to  have been made before the Spanish bought horses to plains and ancient Utes were hunter gatherers.................................bob
