Finally built a shooter!
cowboy:
Kilt this tree bout six months ago while visiting NC. It's a 66" n/n Hickory - pulls 53#'s @ 28". My eighth attemp at making a bow, a couple of broken one's and some not so nice one's later - I can finally go huntin. Oh yeah, I had that aha! moment some of you were talking about with the Flemish string too. takes about 2" of set after shooting, goes back to about 1 3/4" after awhile - that's fine by me right now. ;D
Was going to put a strike plate on but gave up. Had the bow finished minus the handle wrap, couldn't limber up that peice of cow horn to fit right. At what point do you guys put that on and how to go about it? Gracias!

Cool Cowboy. You got a winner there. You could practice on that chicken. ::) That is a good design for hickory. Pat
koan:
Nice bow Cowboy! How much for the chicken? 8).....Brian
Justin Snyder:
Nice looking bow cowboy. You did a fine job on the tiller and a great job on the paint job.
That poor dang chicken looks like somebody has been trying to fletch arrows without much luck. ;D
And how did I know a guy going by cowboy would be sporting that facial hair. ;D Justin
cowboy:
Thanks guys, but I can't part with the chickens - I know they %&^%& on every thing but I sure like them fresh eggs.
