whats a good temporary/ tillering string material???
Jtilley:
I've been trying to find an inexpensive bowstring material that I can use while tillering , and shooting the bow while I am in the early stages . I hate to buy a string for a bow that may break. I have tried several differant types of string , but they all stretch. Does anyone know of a good type of string to use, or is there some trick of the trade that would help me out here?? Thanks, John
bubby:
I just use an old bow string till mostly done then I make a new one for it,I just use a bowyers knot on one end thou, just too lazy to do the second loop ;D,you can also use some paracord, just tie a loop in one end, Bub
sailordad:
just buy a roll of b50 dacron
usually under $10 for a 1/4lb roll
make a few differant length strings and your all set for tillering at differant brace heights
plus have string for the finished bow ;)
