Linen stitching cord for bow string ?

I have some Barbours flax linen stitching cord , 5 cord . How would it be for a bow string ? A buddy of mine has been using artificial sinew , doubled then twisted to the right with drill motor and a cup hook until it starts to kink then doubles back and again twists this time to left  . Each time waxing before twisting . They have held up real good for him . Would this method work with the Linen cord ?   If so how many strands of it for a 40-45# bow ?
