mamba:
Great job Andrew,looks like a shooter to me.

tom sawyer:
Very nice bow, that plum is beautiful stuff.  I like the looks of the horn on the static tips too.  Not a bad idea, to bend the thinned board and then bolster it with an overlay.  You could also kerf the tips and insert a wedge of wood, as an alternative to stiffen a tip like that.  Scarier procedure than what you did.

AndrewS:
@Dane
yes it is a barn! In the barn there is my shop ;)

I live in Gießen. May be you know it???

(But as a snob I think the beer in Gießen isn't good - the best beer comes from Peine (my hometown where my parents live). It's called "Härke-Bier" and in Peine we say "Härke gibt die Stärke" what means "The "Härke"-beer made you strong" ;D

Dane:
Can I have that barn! Wow, what a great place to work.

No, afraid I don't know that town, although I have heard the name.

I was near Klosterlechfeld, down south below Augburg, and perhaps 1 hour by train to Munchen. One of my favorite beirs locally was called Haffenbrau, seit 13 something...and we thing 100 years is old in the country, :)

I'd love to try the bier from your hometown, of course. I hope to get back there one day in the next few years, and bring my wife. Then I can try it! She, alas, is a wine drinker, but there is always hope, as last night, I had a local weisen with the lemon slice, and she said it was drinkable. :)

heavybow:
that a great looking recurve. marlon
