I have locust, black walnut, maple, maybe osage and others. All well seasoned!

Man....decisions, decisions.  I think I changed my mind and want to give the maple a shot.  I'm not confident enough in my abilities yet to handle those woods that like to fret.

Why don't you buy a plug in drill, they are dirt cheap, $25-35 and can be picked up at any flemarket for about $10.
