mullet:
 I have a nice Hackberry stave, a Pacific Dogwood stave that has been drieing since 2004 and naturally reflexed, and an osage sapling that would make a real good "bend in the handle" bow, and a short stave of Hophornbeam.

fishfinder401:
out of the dogwood and hackberry, which could make the strongest bow and what are their lengths
thanks
noel

 Noel;
 Both would make a good, strong bow. The dogwood will be more of a challenge because of the reflex if you don't have a lot of bow making experiance. the hackberry is ready to shape into a bow. Either piece of wood you don't have to worry about following a growth ring.
The hackberry is 64" and the dogwood is 63.5"

fishfinder401:
that dogwood sounds good  ;D im always up for a challenge 8),
ill pm you with my address
thanks
noel
PS: i looked up the machete and apparently it actually really good quality,( didn't expect that), but it makes me feel better about trading for a stave

Elktracker:
