Buckskin Quiver Care
mullet:
If it's commercial don't use oil ,like Pat said. You can dip it or brush it with 'hompson 'aterseal, It works real good with commercial tanned leather.
Dale:
I've made more than a few plains style quivers with commercial elkhide from Crazy Crow and I have never put any kind of dressing/protection on them. Never had a problem with this.
jamie:
even if its commercial id get some smoke on it. leather and smoke just make a great combo. plus it makes an awesome cover scent.
ricktrojanowski:
How would I go about smoking it? A smoker or just over a fire?
jamie:
if its comercial and not brain tan just having it down wind of a smoky fire helps. if it was brain tan it is a whole different process.
