Sneak peek - Cherubim - winged elm - not for BOM

<< < (2/2)

Ranger B:
Pappy - I had to go to St. Louis this weekend for Madison's cheer competition so no hunting or playing.

I still have some tweaking to do.  I hope to get over to Twin Oaks this evening and put it back on the form.  I need to straighten the top limb a tad more and heat the belly again.

I'm still trying to decide what color to stain it.  Part of me wants a gray color that blends with the trees.  Another part of me loves a red mahogany.  Not sure at all about the back.  Maybe skins maybe not.  I'm in no rush.

Great jumpin' Jehosophat!  I'll say you have been working on that bow for a while now!  Your first pictures are from when you were just a little kid and the full draw pics show you as an adult!  And I thought I took forever to finish a bow!

Since those deer at Twin Oaks can't see in color, your favorite  -red mahogany-  is grey to them anyway.  Here's hoping it's finished soon, after all I don't know that the nursing home will allow you to use the arts and crafts room for a project like this!

Nice bow, Jimmy and the tiller looks pretty good to me.  Elm surprised me last winter with the 60" static recurve I built for the TG trade. Elm has been added to my bow wood list for sure.  8)
