Quiver project

Just finished braintanning my first deer hide and desided to try making a double quiver for my bow and arrows.

Braintanning is amazingly messy and cutting fringes is absolutely horrible, but still...  = Loving it ;D

Still got a good deal of stiching to go (all with sinewthread from moose) and even more fringes to cut  ::) 

but this is what I have so far:

its looking great i just finished a hide today i just have to smoke it! What bow is the sleeve made for?

Lookin good, my wife uses a rotary cutter for cutting fringe on the bags she makes.  Looks easier than using scissores.  Don't know what you used, but this might be an idea.  Keep up the good work.

I could say yes, make everybody belive that I planned for it to happen ;) but alas, I must confess: I have no idea what I'm doing :P

As I said, this was my first time tanning and I probably did everything backwards and in the wrong order ;)  Like putting a dry hide in the brains, smoking a wet hide and so on...  So it has been smoked, but then I rebrained it a couple of times, scraped the grain off,  etc.   Definately a learning prosess ;) But I realy liked it, and I look forward to the next hide 8)

The most amusing part however is that i smoked it in the Lavvo (Sapmi version of tipi) at work. I just hung it in the rafters and left it hanging there over night as I would be back in the Lavvo with the children first thing next morning. Long story short: A little girl opened the door, tok one step into the Lavvo and screamed her lungs out!    THERE'S A GHOOOOST IN HERE!!!  :laugh:    made my day 8)
