Wood bodied plane

That comparison does get made, occasionally, but my favorite was the time a young 'un behind the counter at the local DQ said, "Dude, did you know you look just like (wait for it) Nostradamus?!" ;D
The wood was actually maple, btw, don't know what variety, just big box project wood. And you're right, it's amazing what you can hear and feel when the power tools are off.

I've madea few Krenov styles meself. I like the HNT Gordon type planes. The blade angle allows you to flip the blades over and they become scraping planes. I THINK it's a 55* cutting angle as I recall. His website is bigger now than when I used it to build mine. I use his cutting angle with the Krenov model.
