Bow for a Cause

(1/3) > >>

hammertime:
I made this bow for an auction to beneift a friend with bone cancer.  It is bamboo backed Red Birch Core, and Maple belly.  The handle and tips are glued up Brazillian Cherry and bamboo.  63" long, 3/8" tapering to 1 1/2" at the fades.  52 pounds at 26", the wraps cover a small fret in the upper limb.  It's holding up well, and shooting great.  A dear antler serves as the rest.  Finished with Tru Oil.

within two years i saw both my oldest friends die of cancer (one had bone cancer)  before they reached their 45th year; that's how old i am now. my father died one year before that of cancer, also. i was able to accompany them for very far. any chance to be of help contains a chance for oneself. tell your friend my best wishes, please!

.....AND that is one really nice bow; really like the strung profile!!
