Thank you for the great explanation I appretiate you taking the time to type it up for me. I want to give this a try with some vine maple. Did you learn this in a book? if so what book? Again great looking bow and thanks for taking the time to explain it to me. ;D

Your welcome Josh...the design is loosely discussed in TBB3 and TBB4 by Tim Baker. But as you know you can only learn so much from a book in this craft...its learned by doing.

I wanna make a lil shorter length bow and sinew only the working limbs,n make the levers a tad longer,and induce reflex into the working limbs and see what happens :)

Really nice bow.   I like the finish job.   Tiller looks perfect.   Just all around nice bow.  Good job!

What type of tiller do you shoot for with that profile ? Elliptical , circular ?It appears all the bending is taking place at the fade to lever area, esecially the bottom limb. But is is hard to judge with the small screen on my cell.

Jeff you answered your own question. The levers are just that, levers. Thats why you see only the lower section working and the levers remain stiff. His tiller is just about perfect-o, a great example actually.

Thanks n2hunting...pearl pretty much answered the question(thanks chris)...folks also call it a holmgaard type tiller after the holmgaard bow.

I think this might be one of the ones you showed me at your place.  I really like the color and simplicity of it.  The more elaborate (decorated) bows are amazing but I have a sweet spot for a simple bow that reminds us of the beauty of the wood itself.  Good stuff!

Petec..yes it was heat treated. Hackberry responds well to it,n benefits greatly.
