Looking for Ocean Spray or Dogwood Shafts, and Ocean Spray Staves.
Gus:
Hello Dino,
Green is fine with me.
It would give me an opportunity to work em from near the beginning(minus harvesting) to the target... :)
I'm not in a hurry to get em.
Plus as Christmas is on my now, I'll need a little time to process the sinew.
Is early January good for you?
Also how many legs will you need?
Regards,
-gus
Gus:
Thought I'd post a couple of shots of leather work on this thread, as I'm kinda under the gun and won't have an opportunity to
setup a Photo Bucket account or some such.
Cipriano, don't let Diego look at the site till after Christmas!!! :)
Here are some arm guards, a sling shot pouch and the in process shots of feature detail on two quivers I'm working on.
Have to take some more recent shots of the quivers, as they near completion.
Thank You.

Hi Gus-
I'm in no great hurry either...I will, however, have some time next week...I will post a pict of what I harvest (what is your email address). With respect to the number of rear leg sections of sinew...I'll check and get back to you...I have not sinew-backed a full size bow...would like to do 2-3 layers. Are your sections relatively long?
Happy Holidays!
Dino
Gus:
Hello Dino,
The Leg tendons run from about eight to eleven inches in length.
I take them on through the ankle which can add a little length, though some folks cut the "Y" off and use it for glue.
And just to be on the safe side I don't count the two to three inches of tendon past the ankle "Y" in measuring the tendons.
You might consider doing a couple layers of Leg tendons and a layer of Back tendons to finish your bow.

Hi Gus-
Can you send me your mailing address? I cut about 4 dozen red dogwood shafts and pulled out the best 2.5 dozen for you. I also cut 3 dozen wild rose shafts and separated the best 1.5 doz (if you are interested). I can hunt down more of either if you need.
I want to get the shafts to fit in a USPS triangular box and need to trim them a bit. The shafts vary in thickness a bit...before I start trimming them, any preferences on the thicknesses at either end...and also the length?
Thanks,
Dino
