THE SIGN UP DEADLINE WILL BE FEBUARY 1st AFTER YOU GET YOUR NAME YOU CAN START WORK ON YOUR BOW, WHEN IT IS FINISHED YOU CAN SHIP IT. THE SHIP BY DEADLINE WILL BE JULY 14TH
Bevan R will be in charge of the trade this year with Pat B and my self helping as needed.
So here are the (guide lines) that I am copying and pasting and I will add some stuff as well and if anyone else wants to add anything feel free to talk about it here too.
First thing is that Primitive Archer Magazine or website will not be responcible for this trade or have anything to do with it. We will be able to use the site for it though. If any problems arrise we will handle them ourselves.Bevan R, Pat and myself will be here to help as we can with any questions or other issues that may arrise.
THIS IS A BIG ONE.... THIS TRADE IS NOT ABOUT THE BOW YOU RECIEVE BUT ABOUT THE BOW YOU GIVE SO PUT YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO THE BOW AND DONT BE WORRIED ABOUT WHAT YOU RECIEVE. If you are a newbie and don't feel you can compete with the seasoned bowyers that might get involved think again. If you are willing to put all you have into a wood bow then you qualify to join in. If you don't like the idea of making the best bow you can but you might be getting something that a newbie might be making and you don't think it is a fair trade, you should probably stay out of this trade. It isn't about fair trades or newbie vs seasoned bowyer but it is about the spirit of giving and sharing that makes these trades work...just like in the Christmas trade.
I also think that if you havent been able to build a bow that shoots then you should probably wait until next year to participate. ANYONE THAT JOINS THE FORUM AFTER THIS POST WILL NOT BE ALOUD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BOW TRADE THIS YEAR, put some time in on the forum and then think about joining in next year.
Also a problem we ran into last year was there were participants who dont regularily check in on the forum so if you want to be involved please check in more regularily as you can to make sure things arent changing and so you know whats going on or if someone needs more info from you. I would suggest subscribing to this thread with email notifications so we can contact you if need be.
Bevan R will be taking names and info from everyone and will start a list on this thread.
WHEN YOU GIVE HIM YOUR INFO THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GIVE ALL THE INFO NEEDED SO BEVAN DOESNT HAVE TO HUNT YOU DOWN FOR MISSING INFO.
I'm in! Elktracker: Right handed, I shoot off the hand, 45 to 60lbs @ 24 to 26" draw, USA shipping only please

This is my info and this is the form I found most easy to copy and paste. Also your draw weight and length you are wanting is just what you would preffer, and the person making your bow should just get as close to that as they possibly can so dont be upset if your bow is under the weight you were wanting. I would say that it shouldnt be over the weight your recipient asked for as they may not be able to shoot the bow or enjoy it as much, so before you send a bow out over weight do a little more scraping

. If you dont want to post your address on here PM it to bevan but its nice to have it here so your builder can find it if they loose it

. (thats never happened before lol
Also we know sometimes life get in the way and you may be thinking your running late on your bow or you break a bone or you break a bow or whatever. If something like this happens PM Bevan R so he knows whats going on and dont procrastinate on your bow so you dont have to rush on it when the ship by date arrives. IF SOMETHING COMES UP AND YOU CANT GET A BOW DONE BE WILLING TO SHIP THE BOW YOU RECIEVED IN THE TRADE TO THE PERSON YOU WERE BUILDING FOR. If anyone else has any suggestions or anything speak up.
Another thing I will add is this trade is not a oppertunity to swap off a old bow you dont like anymore for a new one, you should be starting a new bow for your giftee for this trade. Also please do build allongs and post pictures of your progress from start to finish so we can all enjoy them and learn from these trades as well. Thanks for reading and thanks to Bevan R for heading this up!!
